For more than 50 years, the name Tom Roush has been part of the automotive landscape in Indiana.
But the story of Tom Roush Auto Group isn't really about cars. It's about a man, a family, and a commitment to doing business the right way.
It Started With Tom
Tom Roush's career in the automobile business began in 1953 at Hedges Pontiac in Indianapolis. He quickly discovered that the automotive business was more than a job—it was something he truly enjoyed.
Tom went on to join Harry A. Sharp Ford, where he worked his way through various management positions and eventually became a partner in the dealership.
In 1972, Tom saw an opportunity to bring something new to Indiana. He became part of the state's first Mazda franchise, opening Roush-Shore Mazda on South Meridian Street in Indianapolis.
Five years later, Tom made another important move. He left the Ford business, acquired a Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Westfield, and moved his Mazda operation to the same location.
At the time, Westfield looked very different than it does today. The dealership sat on what was essentially the edge of town, surrounded by far more open land than development.
Tom believed in the community and in the future of Westfield.
That belief proved to be right.
What began as a small dealership with fewer than 20 employees grew into the Tom Roush Auto Group that exists today.
More Than a Dealership
Tom's philosophy was simple: work hard, treat people fairly, and take care of your customers.
Those principles helped build a business that has lasted for generations.
Tom's son, Jeff, joined the dealership in 1980 and became an important part of the company's growth. Eventually, Tom's grandsons, Tommy and A.J., joined the family business as well.
Today, three generations of the Roush family have worked in the business.
That isn't something we take for granted.
It means that when you do business with Tom Roush Auto Group, you're not simply dealing with a large automotive corporation. You're dealing with a family that has spent decades building its reputation right here in Indiana.
Growing Without Losing Who We Are
Over the years, Tom Roush Auto Group has continued to grow and evolve while maintaining the values that started the company.
Today, the group represents Mazda, Mitsubishi, Lincoln, and Ford, along with a large selection of quality pre-owned vehicles. We provide new and used vehicle sales, financing, parts and service to drivers throughout Westfield, Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, Indianapolis and communities throughout Central Indiana.
But despite the growth, our philosophy hasn't changed.
We believe customers deserve to be treated with respect.
We believe buying a vehicle should be straightforward and enjoyable.
We believe our employees are the foundation of our business.
And we believe that the best way to build a successful dealership isn't by focusing on the next sale—it's by earning customers who come back to us again and again and recommend us to their friends and family.

Today, the Tom Roush name represents more than a dealership.
It represents three generations of family, decades of experience, thousands of customers and a commitment to the communities we call home.
We are proud of where we've come from, but we're even more excited about where we're going.
As we look toward the future, our goal remains the same one Tom had when he started: take care of people, work hard, and build a business that will be here for the next generation.
